This is a remarkable life story of Dr Joyce Wang- a city planner/architect. She and her late husband Dr Leon Wang- a seismic expert,college professor,dean met in mid 1950 in an engineering college located in the south of the island country Taiwan during their freshman year and fell in love. After graduation, they both came to the US to pursue the advanced study at MIT.Then they got married and eventually , have raised three very brainy and bright children ,two boys and one girl,all with doctoral degrees from MIT and Harvard,respectively. Leon and Joyce ,not only they both have a very successful and unsurpassed career in their respective field but in raising and educating the children as well. This book is definitely a must-read ! After all, who wouldn't be curious about this FAMILY OF PHDs? Last but not least, as indicated earlier, Joyce is also an accomplished painter/artist and has personally selected her own 100 paintings presented in each memorable occasion in the book.They are all in color and are so vividly beautiful, so touching, so nostalgic, and so fitting. I want to thank her for writing down this family history for future generations. We can not know where we are going unless we know where we come from. Family histories like this are priceless. Too bad this doesn't come in printed form because I would buy that too!
This ebook of 100 paintings and captions, interspersed with children's episodes, should be of much interest to immigrants and families with students. Joyce and Leon studied together as college friends, worked hard to build their family, initiated family and alma mater reunions, and did community service. In retirement, Joyce continues to be active in art, singing and exercises.
